I started in politics. But when you work for an elected official, there isn’t a good, clean way to get promoted into your boss’s job. So I left Virginia and became an ad copywriter in Chicago and then New York. Now I work for agencies and companies across the country from Richmond. I’m a hybrid creative—writing, creative directing, editing, sound designing, concepting, creating, photoshopping, prompting, deck building, and shooting ideas across every category. Sometimes I think about running for local office. I may not know anything about local politics anymore, but maybe the campaign ads would be good for a change.
