Barber Martin Appoints Patti Shulman as Vice President/Creative Directory

Richmond, Va. Œ Patti Shulman has been appointed vice president and creative director of Barber Martin Advertising (BMA). Shulman, who joined the agency in 1992 as an art director, will oversee all day-to-day operations of the agency's creative department. Shulman, who was a freelance art director prior to joining BMA, has over 20 years of design experience. Her work has been showcased in international publications like Archive and Print magazines, and her awards range from nine gold and silver Telly Awards and a gold at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival for broadcast excellence, to Best of Show at the National Agricultural Marketing Awards (NAMA), to regional awards such as the Addy Awards and the Richmond Show for her print work.

"Patti has a unique combination of creative talent and leadership skills," says Don Morgan, BMA's president and chief operating officer. "She has continuously demonstrated this since she joined the BMA family 13 years ago." Morgan continued, "I know she will continue to lead the creative team in providing break through the clutter advertising that helps our clients achieve their goals."

Shulman is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.F.A. in Communications Arts and is responsible for creating much of the most effective and award-winning work at BMA. She is an equestrian enthusiast and enjoys training and riding her horse, Penny, during her free time. Shulman resides in Richmond with her husband, Terry and her daughter, Skye.
