Richmond Becomes a “Refreshing” City

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (May 17, 2006) - Refresh Richmond, a community of web designers, web developers and other web professionals working to improve the creative, technical and professional aspects of new media work in the Greater Richmond area, today announced its formation.

Following the lead of other “refresh” groups around the world, which are found at Refreshing Cities (www.refreshingcities.org), Refresh Richmond brings Richmond web professionals together to share experiences with new media and share knowledge on various topics of expertise.

“Through software and technology demonstrations, panel discussions, and open-ended Q&A sessions, and driven by the creativity, knowledge and experience of our members, Refresh Richmond aims to bring the Richmond web community together to talk shop and have fun, while strengthening our community in the process,” said Sharif Ewees, Richmond Refresh organizer and founder of 28Media.

Refresh Richmond’s first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31st at 6 p.m.  The meeting will be held at C3, which is located at 1801 E. Cary St. in Richmond, VA.  Meetings may include panel discussions, software demonstrations, or open-ended Q&A, and will be scheduled for weekday evenings on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
