Online, the Producer’s Handy Dandy offers advanced search capabilities and the convenience of round-the-clock casting. Advertising agencies, trade associations, independent producers and others needing talent can stream or download commercial and narration demos of Washington-Baltimore voiceover pros, search audio clips by specific voice style, and even request MP3 auditions of their copy with the click of a button.  The site has links to talent websites and lists ISDN and delivery capabilities for individual performers.

There is no fee for producers to use the site, and the performers may be contacted directly.

The PHD CD-set features 85 top voiceover artists and is regularly updated with current commercial and non-broadcast rates as well as contact information for audio and video production facilities, paymaster services and film and video composers.  The 2007 CD is scheduled for release later this spring and will be distributed without charge to more than 6,000 producers, production facilities and related industry entities nationwide.

The Producer's Handy Dandy has been a primaryMid-Atlantic voiceover casting resource since its founding in 1972 by the late Carroll S. James, Jr., well-known Washington broadcaster and voiceover artist.  Originally only a printed rate guide and talent directory, the first Compact Disc version was released on May 1, 1996 and subsequent editions have followed.  Performers featured on the Producer's Handy Dandy are active members of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
